Thaimae Le

Thaimae Le is a first-generation Vietnamese American citizen, high school graduate, and college student. Growing up in a lower-middle class intercultural environment, Le learned to formulate her own opinions by researching to understand and accept multiple points of view and value systems.  She became open about her homosexuality in 2004 and has been an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community ever since.  Upon graduating high school in 2006, Le had a few stumbles in life, but found success in recovery.   She enrolled into community college in 2013, where she rediscovered her passion for writing and community service.

Thaimae is currently an undergraduate student at UC San Diego studying Literature and Writing with her sights set on becoming a community college English professor.  Her plans also include to become a Dean of Student Affairs after teaching for several years.  She hopes to help unleash the full potential of her future students and empower them to pursue their personal definitions of success. When she is not hitting the books, she can be found listening to music in the dark or spending quality time with her loved ones, especially her dog!
